Online psychotherapy for anxiety
Anxiety disorders are the most common subject in psychotherapy. Almost every one of us has experienced anxiety at least once in our lives. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that 1 in 13 people suffer from anxiety globally.
In America, 40 million people over the age of 18 are having anxiety disorder. Anxiety is caused by a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and certain life events (ADAAs).
Anxiety is not quite a disease
From my point of view, anxiety is not quite a disease. Therefore, it should not be treated with medication. Except maybe if you seriously tried to do psychotherapy, and this attempt failed.
My experience is that psychotherapy for anxiety cannot fail if the client / patient is motivated to work and has chosen the right therapist.
It is important to differentiate between daily anxiety – the so called normal anxiety – and an anxiety disorder. Sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference and it is best to go see a psychologist to help understand if what we are experiencing is anxiety disorder or not.
Anxiety often involves fears that are not necessarily justified. For example, sometimes we are afraid that we will go mad or die. None of this can happen because of anxiety.
You can’t go crazy because of your anxiety and you will not die!
Many people tell me that they feel like they have a disease that doctors can’t find or treat. If we have consulted several doctors who have told us that we have nothing, then we are probably OK. What we have is health anxiety or, in clinical terms, hypochondria. The higher the anxiety, the better the chances of experiencing generalized anxiety.

Generalized anxiety is not a pleasant thing to experience, but you can overcome it. My recommendation is to do a few psychotherapy sessions before resorting to psychiatric medication.
In the case of absolutely each and every one of the people with whom I did psychotherapy for anxiety, after the therapeutic process, in the worst case their anxiety decreased significantly. In most cases, the anxiety disappeared after approximately 10 sessions.
I don’t like to brag, but in the end, it’s not about me, it’s about psychotherapy. I think the vast majority of psychotherapists could make such a statement without lying. Psychotherapy does help!
Psychotherapy in anxiety can really work wonders! Statistics show that the vast majority of those who turn to a psychologist for anxiety manage to get rid of the discomfort that anxiety brings.
